"You need to invest in your personal tooling" I tell junior developers.
"Good chefs bring their own knives and your tools are your knives.
Don't work with dull knives!
They're slow and dangerous.
This is more true than ever in the age of AI."

Then it hit me:
What knives are in my kitchen (literally)? A 3 piece set from Global is like Microsoft Office and I'm a Mac/Linux guy. I need something fit-for-purpose, razor sharp and eye-catching!

So I went to a specialist shop and got myself a Chinese cleaver (big but thin, chops and scoops vegetables) and a Japanese deba (sturdy single-bevel for whole fish and chicken), and lo and behold, they are a game changer.

Can't believe I waited so long and how well the analogy holds!
